Couldn’t wait to find out who the 5.4% of Iowan republicans hope to be their next president! Wow! Democracy in action…thanks to Citizens United the role of corporate money just increased tenfold. Remember “Citizens to Protect Florida” from Me! In 2010, big developer/republican outside money squashed me in my bid for re-election in Leon County…as at the local level so now to the national stage….Kudos to the Montana Supremes for upholding a state law that outlaws this kind of corporate trashing of our sacred freedoms.
Finally got around to going to down to Banco General at Los Establos this morning to pay next months rent. Last month here before heading south to Ecuador. I’ll miss it here!
Watched the kids break dancing with their new teacher Mario, a German traveler who is teaching the kids here in exchange for home cooked meals. Sounds like a deal to me! Enjoying having two Chinese women, Sandra from San Francisco and Tong Chen from Ghanzou, China staying with us for a few days. It’s fun to learn first hand from people of other cultures their perspectives on world events.
Took a cab with GJ, Arie, Kai & W to the Wilson Bridge and enjoyed a leisurely two hour walk back into town alonbeing the Caldera. The highlight of the afternoon being a sighting of a tribe of coatamundi’s running along a ridge above us…very cool.
